Kabul North 110/15 KV Substation

The project is in the north of Kabul city. The project’s owner is the Ministry of Energy and Water (MEW), and the project’s prime contractor was Safa Nicu Company. The Installation of indoor and outdoor equipment, including structures with complete testing and commissioning of the substation, was included in our scope of work. The construction and erection works were started in June 2007, and finally, the substation was commissioned in May 2009.

Kabul North-west 110/15 KV Substation

The project is in the northwest of Kabul city, and the owner of this project is the Ministry of Energy and Water (MEW). The project’s prime contractor was Safa Nicu Company. The Installation of indoor and outdoor equipment, including structures with complete testing and commissioning of the substation, was included in our scope of work. The construction and erection works were started in June 2007, and finally, the substation was commissioned in May 2009.

Kunduz 220/110/20 KV Substation

The project is in Kunduz province, and the total capacity of this substation is about 88 MW. The owner of this project was the Ministry of Energy and Water (MEW), and the prime contractor of this project is Safa Nicu Company. The Civil work and installation of indoor and outdoor equipment, including structures with complete testing and commissioning of the substation, were included in our scope of work. The construction and erection works were started in March 2011, and finally, the substation was commissioned in July 2013.

Baghlan 220/20 KV Substation

The project is in Baghlan province, and the total capacity of this substation is about 16 MW. The owner of this project is the Ministry of Energy and Water (MEW), and the project’s prime contractor was Safa Nicu Company. The Civil work and installation of indoor and outdoor equipment, including structures with complete testing and commissioning of the substation, were included in our scope of work. The construction and erection works were started in July 2011, and finally, the substation was commissioned in November 2014.

Mahipar 10/110 KV Substation

The project is located east of Kabul city, and the total capacity of this power plant is about 80 MW. The owner of this project is the Ministry of Energy and Water (MEW), and the prime contractor was SIEMENS. Dismantling old equipment and installing new indoor and outdoor equipment, including structures, were included in our scope of work. The construction and erection works were started in January 2014, and finally, the substation was commissioned in August 2014.

Kabul North-West Power Plant

The project is in the northwest of Kabul city, and the total capacity of this power plant is about 40 MW. The owner of this project is the Ministry of Energy and Water (MEW), and the prime contractor of this project was Khurasan Electrical Co. Dismounting of the old power transformer and installation of a new power transformer in Kabul North-West power plant was included in our scope of work. The construction and erection works were started in February 2012 and finally handed over in April 2012.

Khulm 220/20 KV Substation

The project is in Balkh Province, Khulm district. The total capacity of this power plant is about 16MW. The owner of this project is the Ministry of Energy and Water (MEW), and the prime contractor was SIEMENS. The Installation of indoor and outdoor equipment, including structures, was part of our scope of work. The construction and erection work were started in June 2015, and finally, the substation was commissioned in January 2016.

Badghis110 KV Transmission Line

The project is in Badghis province; this project’s scope included civil work, tower installation, overhead conductor, OPG wire with all accessories, and testing and commission of transmission line. The length of the 110 KV transmission line is about 52 KM from Qala-e-now to the Turkmenistan border. The owner of this project Is MEW, and the prime contractor is Sunir Company. The project was completed in 2017 as per the project schedule.

Khajeh Alwan 500/220/20 KV Substation

The first 500 KV substation in Afghanistan is in Baghlan province and was constructed by KEC International. Shahab Niru Company, as a subcontractor, performed all electrical installation testing and commissioning of this critical substation. The project was completed in 2019 and is waiting for the energization and connection of its transmission lines.

Sheberghan 220/110/20 KV Substation

The project is in Jawzjan province. The owner of this project is DABS, the subcontractor of this project is Shahab Niru Company, and the prime contractor is SIEMENS Company. The Installation of indoor and outdoor equipment, including structures with complete testing and commissioning of the substation, are included in our scope of work. The project was completed in May 2020.

Mazar-e-Sharif 220/110/20 KV Substation Extension

For the first time in Afghanistan, our expert local engineers could implement the installation, testing, and commissioning of 6 sets of 110 KV HV Cable Termination with link boxes in Mazar-E-Sharif 220 KV substation. By completing this job, DABS can transfer energy via 110 KV power cables from the power transformer to the 110 KV outgoing line. Shahab Niru’s local engineers completed this job by using special tools. We can perform all kinds of HV cable termination; standard tools are available for this task. One transformer extension bay was part of this project. The project was completed in March 2020.

Tarakhail 105 MW Substation’s Transformer Extension Bey

Tarakhail 105 MW substation is in Kabul, Afghanistan. Tarakhail thermal plant is a fuel plant that generates 105 MW Electrical power to Kabul city. We extended the existing substation with a new power transformer bay. This project started in January 2019. By completing this transformer bey, 40MW was added to the substation’s capacity. The project was completed in August 2020.

Kandahar 15 MW Solar project

The project is in Kandahar city. This project has a capacity of 15 MW in AC and 12.5 MW in DC. In this project, five transformers were installed, and each one of them has 2.5 MW Capacity. The owner of this project is (DABS), and the prime contractor is Phelan Energy Group. The installation of Solar Power plant indoor and outdoor equipment, including testing and commissioning of the project, are included in our scope of work. The construction and erection works were started in February 2019, and it is in progress and will finish at the end of the year.

Kandahar 10 MW Solar Plant, Testing and Commissioning

Kandahar 10 MW Solar plant was planned and financed by USAID, and SNEC implemented testing and Commissioning of the project. The project was energized in 2019 successfully, and it is under load now.

Salang Tunnel 220 KV Substation, Testing and Commissioning

USAID in 2016 planned a 220/20 KV substation for Salang Tunnels. This project was energized successfully in 2019, and SNEC tested and commissioned all equipment as a sub-contractor.

Logar 20KV Double Circuit Transmission Line

The US Army Corps of Engineers funded the project in July 2020 by Shahab Niru Company. The scope of work was constructing a 20KV double-circuit transmission line from Pul-E-Alam Substation up to FOB Shank Base, a switchgear room, and a complete distribution network.

Pul-E-Khumri 220KV Substation’s Transformer Extension Bey and Double Circuit Transmission Line

This project aimed to expand the transformer bay at the Kar Kar Substation and construct a double circuit 20KV transmission line that spans 16 km from the Kar Kar Substation to Kelagai Base. Shahab Niru Company started the project in October 2020, and the US Army Corps provided the funds.
